Lang Lang

Dubbed as one of the most successful classical musician of his time, Lang Lang is an award-winning composer, playing to sold out recitals all over the world.

Lang Lang began playing the piano at 3, and by the time he was nine-years-old, he was already kicked out of Beijin’s Central Conservatory of Music for an apparent lack of talent.

Growing up, he faced intense pressure from his parents about being focused and entering competitions. As a kid, he ended up giving up his favourite sport (basketball) and other activities because it was too harsh on his hands.

As part of his accomplishments, he was a featured soloist on Golden Globe-winning score The Painted Veil.

His album debuted at number one on the Classical Billboard Charts with the Orchestre de Paris and Christoph Eschenbach, recorded for video game Gran Turismo 5.

He has also performed for the United Nations' Secretary-General Kofi Annan, U.S. President Barack Obama, Queen Elizabeth II and various global heads of states.

He was the first ambassador of the YouTube Symphony Orchestra, and Time Magazine in 2009 granted him a place in its list of 100 Most Influential People in the World.
